FAQ

Q. Why do I study at LJMU for my certificates?
A. At LJMU your OOW certificate course will count as first year of BSc Nautical Science and Chief Mate course will count as second year. We have designed 3rd year delivered by distance learning and by the time you come for Master's Oral examination you would have completed your BSc Nautical Science honours degree.

Q. If it is part of degree programme then the course must be expensive. Is that true?
A. No. OOW and Chief Mate course fees are very competetitive comparing to other colleges in the UK. Only thing you will have to pay extra is the cost of third year, which is optional. At the end of OOW stage you will be awarded Certificate in Higher Education and at the end of Chief Mate you will be awarded Diploma in Higher Education. And then after completing third year of degree you will be eligible for two years work permit in the United Kingdom.

Q. What is the catch?
A. No catch at all. Since courses are delivered in a university and to satisfy university structure courses are designed in such a way to provide opportunity for candidates to complete the final award.
