Q. Who is this ebook for?
A. This ebook is for OOW, Chief Mate and Master students studying for Certificate of Competency under STCW’95.

Q. What are the features of this ebook?
A. This is not a conventional book loaded with text. In addition to the rules there is an easy to understand explanation given against each rule from 1 to 19. Lights and Shapes illustrations are given against each rule in Part C. There is an interactive quiz to help you learn the lights. Some rules are explained with the help of animations. Once you have learnt the rules and lights then you can move to exam situations and related questions with model answers. A sample of everything is given in the sample ebook.

Q. Why this book is not available in print?
A. It is not possible to insert animations and interactive quiz into print version and also print books are very expensive. By making this as ebook end user cost is kept to minimum.
In the paper book you are only limited to the version you buy. With this ebook you can upgarade to new version at no extra cost.

Q. How do I buy this ebook?
A. Download sample of the book on 17th October or thereafter. The new sample will be an executable (.exe) file. When you run this new sample it will open as pdf file. (Note: You must have adobe Reader 9.0, or above, installed on your computer. This is free software and can be downloaded here). This ebook will have ‘Buy this ebook now’ option on the top right corner of the book. Click this button and complete the payment process. Q. Once activated, can I copy to other computer?
A. No. The ebook will become sample version on other computer. Once activated, the key will not work on other computers. The key will only work on one computer at one time.

Q. What if I change my computer?
A. You need to deactivate the key from your old computer by clicking the ‘help’ menu on the top. Once deactivated you computer will show sample version of the ebook. Now you can copy the sample version from you old computer or download from the website on your new computer and the activate using your same activation key. Make sure you don’t lose the activation key.

Q. Is there any limit for the software to be transferred from computer to computer?
A. No. There is no limit assigned with the activation keys. You can transfer as many times you want.

Q. How can I upgrade to new version?
A. You need to deactivate the key from the version you are using by clicking the ‘help’ menu on the top. Once deactivated you need to download the new version sample from the website. Enter the activation key into the new version sample which will activate the new version. Make sure you don’t lose the activation key.

Q. Do I need internet access to view the ebook?
A. You only need internet access at the time of activation. Once activated you can access the ebook without internet connection.

Q. Does it work on MAC?
A. No. Ebook currently does not work on mac. It only works on Windows operating system.

Q. Can i use this ebook on a networked computer?
A. Make sure you check with your network administrator. If your network does not allow you to keep the ebook settings then you can deactivate the book after every time you have used.

Q. Once I finished my course, I could resell a paper book. Can I resell the ebook?
A. ROR is such topic that you would not like to sell it. But if you decide to sell this ebook for any reason, you can do so by deactivating the ebook and sell the activation key. The buyer will get a brand new copy of the book with no marks, notes or missing pages!
